First of all, the Maison Carré is a beautiful house in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, near Paris, designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (uniquely in France). Here were exhibited some of Murano's glassworks by Ilkka Suppanen, which was designated by Domus as "one of the sons of Aalto" in 1990. Also here is presented the work "Burning Aalto". An iconoclastic work par excellence, with which Suppanen burns the genius of the master, in order to rebuild the new from its – material - ashes. It was a wood stool wrapped in a metal frame. After the wood it was burnt, now it is just the metal involucre.
